Thank you, because of you our race was won! Last night was so exciting, it was great seeing everyone at the Horizon Inn so happy, most of the time (even when on pins and needles)! Thank you to everyone who could not be with us; your prayers, calls, emails and texts meant the world to me! I will work for you in the Legislature!
Regardless, at the end of the night we left the Horizon with a new seat in the Legislature. It belongs to the people of our district! The challenges in the Legislature will be many, and the road ahead of us difficult facing a budget shortfall of more than $1 billion.
Volunteers and contributors, you are an army of Angels! It was your watch that lifted me, and lifted us all to victory!
It has been a rewarding experience to go all over the district and meet the wonderful people of our district! Thank you also to my special former co-workers aka dear friends, and colleagues in and outside of Nebraska who also prayed, worked and contributed to our success. Thank you for asking others to do so as well.

Join us November 2 at the Horizon Inn, from 7 p.m. until midnight?! Like the Primary, we will have a “Family Style” Pot Luck, bring something along to munch on and share. Crock pots are welcome for anyone with not bringing soup or sandwich dishes. Chips, dips and sweets work too. Some have talked about ordering a few Godfather’s Pizza’s as well. All District 16 Counties are invited!! Let us know if you are having something in your town, we may want to drop by too
In the Primary a few discussed going to Lincoln. I want to be in the District on November 2! All of our GOP County Chairs shared in the work, so many volunteers here have put a lot of sweat equity, hard earned dollars contributed, and at times we fought off wind, rain and cold of winter (St. Pat’s in Wisner Parade).
It is great if anyone wants to go to Lincoln, it starts at 7p.m., the Grand Manse (Lincoln’s old Federal Building, across from the Lincoln Journal Star). No RSVPS required. I can tell Taylor you will be there if you like, or call him direct at 402-475-2122. You can wave our yard signs at the media that may flood the room there!

Lydia Brasch is a lifelong Nebraskan, farm wife and a proud first generation American. Lydia’s parents emigrated from the Ukraine to the United Stated and instilled a strong work ethic in all their children.
Lydia worked in media and public relations and for the Nebraska Department of Revenue. During her career, Lydia worked with four Nebraska Governors and six State Tax Commissioners. Due to the hard work Lydia displayed, she has earned the endorsement and friendship of Governor Dave Heineman, previous Governor Kay Orr and United States Senator Mike Johanns.
Lydia currently helps her husband Lee on the farm while selling educational software for special education students. This career has provided valuable insight to not only the broad challenges and needs of education, but a view of the impact the economy has made on school districts.
Lydia and her husband enjoy spending time with their two children and four grandchildren. They enjoy being active in the community and are faithful members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft. Please see the “About” page for more details.
